ITIL 4 Foundation

ITIL 4 is built on the established core of best practice in the ITIL guidance. ITIL 4 provides a practical and flexible approach to move to the new world of digital transformation and embrace an end-to-end operating model for the delivery and operation of products and services. ITIL 4 also provides a holistic end-to-end picture that integrates frameworks such as Lean IT, Agile, and DevOps. 

This 2-day course is the perfect blend of classroom training and group exercises ensuring that participants will fully comprehend the ITIL concepts, and are also able to apply them in a real world context.

 

 

  • Understand the key concepts of ITIL service management.
  • Understand how ITIL guiding principles can help an organization to adopt and adapt ITIL service management.
  • Understand the four dimensions of ITIL service management.
  • Understand the purpose and components of the ITIL service value system, and activities of the service value chain, and how they interconnect.
  • Understand the key concepts of continual improvement.
  • Learn the various ITIL practices.

All content is accredited and based on the official syllabus ensuring nothing is left to prepare for the associat­ed certification. The exam consists of forty ( 40) multiple-selection questions and has a duration of sixty (60) minutes. To pass the exam and achieve the ITIL Foundation certification, the learner must answer a minimum of twenty-six (26) questions correctly equivalent to 65%. 

Minimum of 6 students and a maximum of 20 students per session is a requisite for instructor-led delivery (onsite or virtual live classroom).

ITIL Intermediate Lifecycle

This stream of five 3-day courses immerses learners in the overall concepts, processes, policies and methods associated with the different phases of the Service Lifecycle: Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation and Continual Service Improvement (CSI)

It consists of a total of six courses. Each course covers the management and control of the activities and techniques of each stage, but not the detail of each of the supporting processes. Each course is designed using an engaging scenario-based approach to learning the core disciplines of the ITIL best practice and positions the student to successfully complete the associated exam.

  • Understanding Service Management as a Practice and Service lifecycle principles, purpose and objectives.
  • Understanding how all Service Management processes interact with other Service Lifecycle processes.
  • The sub-processes, activities, methods and functions used in each of the lifecycle processes.
  • The roles and responsibilities within each stage and the activities and functions to achieve operational excellence.
  • How to measure performance.
  • Understanding technology and implementation requirements in support of each lifecycle stage.
  • The challenges, critical success factors and risks related with each lifecycle stage.

The exam is a closed book exam with eight (8) multiple choice, scenario-based, gradient scored questions. Exam duration is a maximum 90 minutes for all candidates in their respective language (candidates sitting the examination in a language other than their first language have a maximum of 120 minutes and are allowed to use a dictionary). Each question will have 4 possible answer options, one of which is worth 5 marks, one which is worth 3 marks, one which is worth 1 mark, and one which is a distracter and achieves no marks. Pass score is 28/40 or 70%. 

Holding the ITIL” v3/201 l Foundation Certificate or ITIL v2 Foundation+ v3 Foundation Bridge Certificate is a pre-requisite to take this course and sit the exam.

DevOps Foundation

DevOps training is the starting point for an organization going on the DevOps journey. Improved workflows and faster deployment starts with a core understanding of DevOps fundamental concepts by anyone involved in an agile and/or DevOps team. This course provides an extensive introduction to the core Agile DevOps principles covering the essential knowledge and skill competences that have been defined by the DevOps Agile Skills Association (DASA). 

This course is designed to provide the core education necessary to build your DevOps vocabulary and to understand its principles and practices. With the help of key DevOps concepts and terminology, real-life case studies, examples and interactive group discussions and extensive exercises in each module you will acquire a fundamental understanding of DevOps. 

  • Know the emergence of DevOps, core concepts and principles.
  • Understand the key elements of a DevOps culture and how practices relate to ITSM processes.
  • Know the important aspects when creating a DevOps culture.
  • Know the Operational models of DevOps.
  • Understand the need for autonomous teams.
  • Understand the impact of DevOps on Architecture with respect to deployment.
  • Understand governance within DevOps teams.
  • Understand Agile, Scrum and Kanban and how these practices relate to one another.
  • Know how to provide a Value Stream Map for a given process.
  • Understand the benefits and core principles of continuous delivery, the cloud principles in DevOps.
  • Know the impact of automation and why monitoring and logging are relevant.

The exam consists of 40 questions multiple-choice. The exam session is 60 minutes, closed ­book. 26 out of 40 correct answers are required to pass (65%). Upon successful passing of the associated exam, the learner will be recognized with the DASA DevOps Foundation Certification.
