ITIL 4 Foundation

ITIL 4 is built on the established core of best practice in the ITIL guidance. ITIL 4 provides a practical and flexible approach to move to the new world of digital transformation and embrace an end-to-end operating model for the delivery and operation of products and services. ITIL 4 also provides a holistic end-to-end picture that integrates frameworks such as Lean IT, Agile, and DevOps. 

This 2-day course is the perfect blend of classroom training and group exercises ensuring that participants will fully comprehend the ITIL concepts, and are also able to apply them in a real world context.

 

 

  • Understand the key concepts of ITIL service management.
  • Understand how ITIL guiding principles can help an organization to adopt and adapt ITIL service management.
  • Understand the four dimensions of ITIL service management.
  • Understand the purpose and components of the ITIL service value system, and activities of the service value chain, and how they interconnect.
  • Understand the key concepts of continual improvement.
  • Learn the various ITIL practices.

All content is accredited and based on the official syllabus ensuring nothing is left to prepare for the associat­ed certification. The exam consists of forty ( 40) multiple-selection questions and has a duration of sixty (60) minutes. To pass the exam and achieve the ITIL Foundation certification, the learner must answer a minimum of twenty-six (26) questions correctly equivalent to 65%. 

Minimum of 6 students and a maximum of 20 students per session is a requisite for instructor-led delivery (onsite or virtual live classroom).

ITIL Intermediate Lifecycle

This stream of five 3-day courses immerses learners in the overall concepts, processes, policies and methods associated with the different phases of the Service Lifecycle: Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation and Continual Service Improvement (CSI)

It consists of a total of six courses. Each course covers the management and control of the activities and techniques of each stage, but not the detail of each of the supporting processes. Each course is designed using an engaging scenario-based approach to learning the core disciplines of the ITIL best practice and positions the student to successfully complete the associated exam.

  • Understanding Service Management as a Practice and Service lifecycle principles, purpose and objectives.
  • Understanding how all Service Management processes interact with other Service Lifecycle processes.
  • The sub-processes, activities, methods and functions used in each of the lifecycle processes.
  • The roles and responsibilities within each stage and the activities and functions to achieve operational excellence.
  • How to measure performance.
  • Understanding technology and implementation requirements in support of each lifecycle stage.
  • The challenges, critical success factors and risks related with each lifecycle stage.

The exam is a closed book exam with eight (8) multiple choice, scenario-based, gradient scored questions. Exam duration is a maximum 90 minutes for all candidates in their respective language (candidates sitting the examination in a language other than their first language have a maximum of 120 minutes and are allowed to use a dictionary). Each question will have 4 possible answer options, one of which is worth 5 marks, one which is worth 3 marks, one which is worth 1 mark, and one which is a distracter and achieves no marks. Pass score is 28/40 or 70%. 

Holding the ITIL” v3/201 l Foundation Certificate or ITIL v2 Foundation+ v3 Foundation Bridge Certificate is a pre-requisite to take this course and sit the exam.

COBIT 5 Foundation

COBIT 5 provides a comprehensive framework that assists enterprises in achieving their objectives for the governance and management of enterprise IT. It enables IT to be governed and managed in a holistic manner for the entire enterprise, taking in both the full end-to-end business and IT functional areas of responsibility. COBIT 5 can be adopted and adapted by enterprises of all sizes and from any industry in private and public sectors. 

In this 2.5-day interactive course, participants learn about the need for an IT governance framework and how COBIT addresses this need by providing the latest insights into enterprise-wide governance of IT. This course explains the elements and supporting materials of the COBIT framework, using a logical and example-driven approach for anyone interested in obtaining COBIT foundation level knowledge. COBIT 5 Foundation is the first step to enroll into COBIT 5 Implementation and COBIT 5 Assessor. The COBIT 5 Foundation exam is a prerequisite to attaining the COBIT 5 Implementation and COBIT 5 Assessor exams.

  • IT governance concepts and benefits.
  • The framework, principles, enablers and the process components in COBIT 5.
  • Implementation approach for the use of COBIT 5.
  • Structure of COBIT 5 process reference model.
  • The basic concepts for the implementation of IT governance practices.
  • Using the Process Assessment Model (PAM) as a tool to analyze the process capability.

The exam consists of 50 questions multiple-choice. The exam session is 40 minutes, closed-book. 25 out of 50 correct answers are required to pass (50%). Upon successful passing of the COBIT 5 associated exam, the learner will be recognized with the COBIT Foundation Certification.

COBIT 5 Implementation

COBIT 5 provides a comprehensive framework that assists enterprises in achieving their objectives for the governance and management of enterprise IT. It enables IT to be governed and managed in a holistic manner for the entire enterprise, taking in both the full end-to-end business and IT functional areas of responsibility. COBIT 5 can be adopted and adapted by enterprises of all sizes and from any industry in private and public sectors. 

In this 2-day interactive course, participants will enjoy practical experience on how to apply COBIT 5 to specific business problems, pain points, trigger events and risk scenarios within the organization. Learn how to implement and apply COBIT 5 into your enterprise and how to effectively use it for client initiatives. Attendees will walk away with an appreciation of how to effectively use COBIT 5 for different organizational scenarios. 

  • How to analyze enterprise drivers.
  • Implementation challenges, root causes and success factors.
  • How to determine and assess current process capability.
  • How to scope and plan improvements.
  • Potential implementation pitfalls.

The COBIT 5 Implementation examination paper consists of three booklets: the scenario booklet, question booklet and the answer (sheet) booklet. In total, there are four questions, each testing one syllabus area, in various formats (multiple choice, multiple response, matching responses and evaluating statements). The pass mark for the implementation exam is 50%. Each of the four questions contains 20 question lines, each of which attracts 1 mark, giving a total of 80 marks. Each of the four questions will be sub-divided into parts. Each of these ‘part-questions’ will identify the portion of the 20 marks allocated to it. 

The exam is 150 minutes in duration. You may reference a copy of the Implementation Guide and the Enabling process Guide during the examination.

DevOps Foundation

DevOps training is the starting point for an organization going on the DevOps journey. Improved workflows and faster deployment starts with a core understanding of DevOps fundamental concepts by anyone involved in an agile and/or DevOps team. This course provides an extensive introduction to the core Agile DevOps principles covering the essential knowledge and skill competences that have been defined by the DevOps Agile Skills Association (DASA). 

This course is designed to provide the core education necessary to build your DevOps vocabulary and to understand its principles and practices. With the help of key DevOps concepts and terminology, real-life case studies, examples and interactive group discussions and extensive exercises in each module you will acquire a fundamental understanding of DevOps. 

  • Know the emergence of DevOps, core concepts and principles.
  • Understand the key elements of a DevOps culture and how practices relate to ITSM processes.
  • Know the important aspects when creating a DevOps culture.
  • Know the Operational models of DevOps.
  • Understand the need for autonomous teams.
  • Understand the impact of DevOps on Architecture with respect to deployment.
  • Understand governance within DevOps teams.
  • Understand Agile, Scrum and Kanban and how these practices relate to one another.
  • Know how to provide a Value Stream Map for a given process.
  • Understand the benefits and core principles of continuous delivery, the cloud principles in DevOps.
  • Know the impact of automation and why monitoring and logging are relevant.

The exam consists of 40 questions multiple-choice. The exam session is 60 minutes, closed ­book. 26 out of 40 correct answers are required to pass (65%). Upon successful passing of the associated exam, the learner will be recognized with the DASA DevOps Foundation Certification.
